Five days to race #3 of 13N2013!

I’m excited! I’m really getting into running 13 races in 2013. When I made this my goal for this year I had no idea how many folks out there were running 13 of anything. The folks I’ve “met” write many great blogs about how to run, how much fun it is to run, and some great causes. I’ve read about the best socks, shoes(im partial to these), music mixes, and nutrition. I have learned a lot and I can say that I now look forward to every race I have signed up for. My goal in running 13 5Ks in 2013 is to raise awareness for Alzheimer’s and know that every one of these sites are helping me along the way.

This Saturday I’m running the Miles for Missions race in north Raleigh. “Grace Community Church will host its 2nd annual 5K on Feb. 23, 2013 to raise funds for local outreach efforts that support non-profits such as North Raleigh Ministries, Christian Library International, Raleigh Rescue Missions and Resources for Seniors.”-website. I’ll make sure I take more pictures than the last race.

Stay tuned!

Mike! # 3 already?! You go, boy! So, proud of what you are doing for a cause near and dear to so many of us!!!! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! Just doesn’t seem like enough! Got me thinking…and inspired… Maybe next year 14 in 2014?! Good luck, brother! I know you’ll do AWESOME! Much love to Dani and the kiddos!

Thanks Kelly. Ya, I’m already thinking 14 in 2014. We may have something here! There are enough of us 30/40/50 somethings that have been affected by Alzheimer’s that we could turn the nationwide Walks into nationwide 5Ks. We need to get the kiddies together and then hash over the details.

I’m so very proud of you! I hope the cold rain holds off for race #3!

  3. Awesome Mike! You’re running for a great cause!! I just subscribed, so I’ll be able to follow the rest of your races and living vicariously through you (hip surgery coming up for me).

Thanks Erik! I’m trying to post more often. I’m not really a writer so sitting doen to put thoughts on paper hurts more than my shin splints at times. I hope your surgery is a success and youre back out on the road quickly.
